Britney Spears becomes an icon of the gay community over Madonna

LOS ANGELES, 16 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) Princess of Pop is once again gaining prominence, not only in the music scene, where everyone impatiently waiting the release of its seventh studio album, Femme Fatal, but also in a plane more social and glamorous. And the singer has been chosen for 'Equality Project' as an icon, above other well-known celebrities like Lady Gaga and, indeed, the very Madonna.

This was announced Joel Waddell, a member of the organization, when you discussed the results of the vote according to which Spears has become the new gay icon par excellence, having been voted by 31 percent of survey participants, beating the likes of U.S. President, Barack Obama, or the multifaceted Cher.

However, the vote was fairly close. Britney Spears on the podium will accompany the Queen of Pop herself, who took second position with 25 some votes, and Lady Gaga, who has been chosen by 22 percent of the participants. At the gates of the top three has been the 'California girl', Katy Parry, who has only been made with 12 percent of the ballots.

"When Madonna re-release an album will be on top again. She will always be the best icon to the gay community has ever had, "said Waddell. "Madonna will always be the great gay icon although it has been in second place," insisted one of the participants in the election, as has collected DigitalSpy.

With this new album title and release point, Britney may be in luck. The singer is planning her comeback with a vengeance with which it says will be "his best work." The video for their first single, Hold It Against Me, will be released soon but, until then, the blonde singer is revealed in dribs and drabs a series of frames that move could be about to teach her wild side.
