The end of an era 'Guitar Hero' ... for now

Even the most lucrative businesses can end up in the worst way possible, and be one of the most profitable franchises in gaming history has not prevented Activision dramatically ending the development of the series 'Guitar Hero', and incidentally also its electronic sister 'DJ Hero'. The company closed six years of release and full of light and shadow.

The problem comes when trying to sell year after year the same product, with new installments every few months only limited technical developments and slightly less than to renew the repertoire of songs. The development of the securities happened to be something Neversoft and new instruments were added over the years, but all that was not enough for the franchise was losing interest by consumers, coming 'Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock ', his latest release, to reap a very low sales.

The announcement by Activision confirms that it will launch a title for this 2011 musical, which does not close the door to the back of new 'Hero' during the coming years, but the thing does not look good for the future. So dramatic has been the end of this series, even going to suspend indefinitely the launch of new downloadable packs from this February.

EA has not commented on the way to continue his great competence, 'Rock Band', but now they have announced no new title. The way they decide to take will determine whether the era of plastic guitars with buttons will be finished so withering as it began, or if they still have music for awhile.
