Take That was named best British band at the Brit Awards

London, Feb 15 (dpa) - The British pop band Take That, meeting again a few months ago, was chosen as the best band in the delivery of the Brit Awards. After meeting last year, Robbie Williams, Take That gave live their new single, "Kidz", accompanied by a group of dancers dressed as riot police. The biggest festival of music in the UK was dominated by the emergence of a type of British urban music clearly embodied in the Tinie Tempah-known rapper actually Okogwu-Patrick, who won two awards: best new artist and best British single for "Pass Out".

"I thank God and my family for supporting me when times are difficult," said the rapper of 22 years to the public in Greenwich, south London. The Canadian band Arcade Fire was named best international band and also took the prize for best international album for "The Suburbs", while Canadian Justin Bieber, 16, was named best new artist for "Baby." The pop star Rihanna took home the award for best international solo artist, award rapper Cee Lo Green was in the male section.

This year was given a statuette specially created by British designer Vivienne Westwood.
