Next edition of the Rock in Rio can get to Argentina, Mexico and Colombia

Rock in Rio festival, which this year takes place in the capital of Rio, should remain in Latin America for its next edition, as organizers announced Friday that studies led to Argentina, Mexico or Colombia. According to the official site, starting Saturday will launch an advertising campaign in the three countries to study the public interest and analyze the market to attract potential investors.

This year, Rio de Janeiro will for the fourth time the festival, which celebrates its tenth edition. Rock in Rio will be held in a special park built in Barra da Tijuca (west) and will last six days, with nearly 100 local and foreign artists from 23 to 25 September 2011 and will continue on 30 that month to 2 October.

The first edition was held in Rio in January 1985 and in 10 days drew nearly a million and half people. The next edition was in 1991 and the last in 2001. Rock in Rio was after four editions, two in Portugal and two in Spain. For the tenth edition already confirmed major international attractions such as Elton John, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Shakira and Lenny Kravitz.
