Asunción, March 8 (EFE) .- The Colombian singer Shakira on Tuesday offered his first and only recital in Asuncion, in the framework of his tour of Latin America, which includes 21 concerts in the region. Shakira, from the Uruguayan resort of Punta del Este, where he gave a performance last Sunday, was presented at the Jockey Club del Paraguay in a festival that included Ziggy Marley, son of Bob Marley, the band Argentina "The Authentic Decanter" and local "Rumberos".
Shakira's show, which features songs from their latest album, "The sun rises, but includes issues of other albums, is hauling 100 tons of material traveling along a hundred people in 25 trucks. The Colombian, who on 10 next be presented in Santiago, conducts the tour accompanied by three friends and their representative and excuñado, Aito De la Rua, among other team members.
The Paraguayan police said tonight that mobilized some 500 officers to guard the surroundings of the Jockey Club. Tickets for the event were sold at prices ranging between 22 and 390 dollars.
