BUENOS AIRES, March 18, 2011 (AFP) - Spanish singer Joaquin Sabina began in Argentina on Thursday night his tour "The Penultimate Train", with a massive concert that included a tribute to Mercedes Sosa in Tucumán (north), hometown the singer died in October 2009. "Lemon Tiramisu" was the theme chosen to start the show at the amphitheater Monumental in the capital of Tucumán (1,300 km north), to an audience that enjoyed the 26 topics chosen by the Spanish from old hits and new songs.
To remind Mercedes Sosa, the artist sang part of "Luna Tucuman," a samba by the legendary folklorist Atahualpa Yupanqui, who used to sing 'La Negra'. "I loved and admired," said Sabina on the artist and said that the last time they met in Buenos Aires she asked the song "Violet to Violet." Sabina presentations will continue this weekend with concerts in the cities of Bahía Blanca and Mar del Plata (south) and then in Buenos Aires, Rosario (center-east) and Córdoba (center).
Sabina continues its tour of Uruguay, where he plans to offer a recital at Montevideo 29.
