Buenos Aires, May 27 (EFE) .- The Argentine singer Diego Torres presented today in Buenos Aires' I believe in America, "the official song of the Copa America to be held in July in this South American country. Before a crowd that gathered at the Obelisk, near which was mounted the stage, the singer sang the theme of his own and asked the audience to "receive with joy" to the thousands of people traveling the country to witness the tournament world's oldest national teams.
"Let us enjoy football," Torres asked, fan of the sport and Boca Juniors. The track was recorded in Miami and has a mixture of indigenous sounds and modern. Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay are the heads of America's Cup series of 2011, in which the teams compete in the ten countries of the South American Football Confederation, plus Mexico and Costa Rica.
The tournament will be played between 1 and 24 July next at eight venues in Argentina.
