Cathedral has announced his retirement after 21 years of activity. The British band, pioneers of doom metal, led by Lee Dorrian of the scenes will be dismissed later this year, but not before a new studio album to be released in 2012. Their debut album, Forest Of Equilibrium, is considered one of the pillars of doom with Epicus Doomicus Metallicus, the first work of Candlemass.
His career has resulted in nine studio albums and a slew of EPs that are as example for the younger generation. Lee Dorrian has commented on their separation: After a big stage with Earache, who debuted his two latest albums were released by Nuclear Blast, with his latest album, The Guessing Time, at the height of what is expected of them, but remained far from the original patterns of doom.
