Isle Of MTV Malta again for the fifth consecutive year! MTV Networks International and the Department of Tourism of Malta announced the renewal of the partnership that will take this year the great free music event of the network on the island of Malta on 30 June. The agreement result of the great success of "Isle of MTV Malta Special", which in recent years have played in the famous square in the Fosos Square in the heart of Valletta, the beautiful and historic capital of the island.
The aim of this partnership has always been to attract young European travelers to Malta and attendance figures released by the National Office of Statistics of Malta show an increase of 35% just for tourists under 24 years who chose Malta as a destination holiday. The big musical event did the rest, bringing in recent years artists such as Lady GaGa, David Guetta, Kid Rock, Kelis, Chemical Brothers, The Black Eyed Peas and Scissor Sisters who performed in front of more than 50,000 people.
Also this year the event, recorded by the cameras of the network, will become a one-hour special to be aired on 20 MTV channels all over Europe. Cast and other details will be announced on the issue most on 2011. Isle of MTV Malta will be produced by 360 Playmaker, a business unit of MTV Italy which produces shows, concerts, and events format, which also produced the two previous editions and the MTV EMAs 2010 that were held in Madrid November 7, 2010 .
Before coming to Malta in 2006, IOM held in Portugal Lisbon Torre de Belma (2002), in France in Ile du Gaou Six-Fours Les Plages (2003), Spain to Tossa De Mar in Costa Brava ( 2004) and in Italy in Trieste in Piazza Unità d'Italy (2005).
