Spears's previous album, Circus, sold fewer than two million copies, although it reached number 1 in the country thanks to the success of "Womanizer", which showed a more recovered after a period of emotional and physical decline.

Your Baby One More Time album catapulted the music world in 1998, followed the year after Oops, I Did It Again. Both had impressive sales in the first half of the world reached 25 million copies. In total it is estimated that the singer has sold over 70 million records during his career.
