The White Stripes are separated

It was an open secret but it is now confirmed: The White Stripes are separated. This was announced today in its official website, which indicate that there will be no new recordings or live performances. The band was in a special limbo since the duo canceled in 2007 world tour Icky Thump presentation because of certain anxiety disorders suffered by Meg White.

The group has admitted in a statement: Meg and Jack White have also left a special message to his fans: After Great White Under Northern Lights, a documentary about his 2007 tour which also had its edition live album, the material is unprecedented in the band posted on Third Man Records, the label of Jack White.

A pity their separation because who else who least expected soon a new studio album from the duo.
