Versatile as they come, Pet Shop Boys changed the dance floor for ballet with the release of the soundtrack to the adaptation of The Most Incredible Thing, by Hans Christian Andersen. The ballet will premiere March 22 at Sadler's Wells in London, although there will be pre between 17 and 21, almost coinciding with the release of the Parlophone track double CD that includes a combination of electronics and orchestra in three acts.
Neil Tennant Chris Lowe and recorded these songs with the Wroclaw Score Orchestra conducted by Dominic Wheeler. The ballet, including the former Royal Ballet star Ivan Putrov, is the first British group collaboration with choreographer Javier de Frutos. The Most Incredible Thing is the second foray by Pet Shop Boys in the field of film music, because in 2004 the duo has signed a new score for Battleship Potemkin, which was performed by the Dresden Symphony Orchestra in England, Germany and Spain.
Here, given the good work, repeat collaboration with composer Sven Heibilg Germany, responsible for the orchestrations. The duo has commented on his new score to:
