Very little has to do with Gossip. We must recognize that issues such as 'Standing in the Way of Control' or 'Heavy Cross' have a strength that make us dance in spite of ourselves and we do not find here. But this does not mean the end of Gossip, in fact already in the studio preparing his next album, just that he wanted Beth Ditto do something different on their own.
Well, actually has been very good company as the British duo Simian Mobile Disco have been responsible for the production of the four songs on this EP entitled Beth Ditto that yesterday, coinciding with the International Day of working women, was launched in digital downloads. We can see the video of one of the issues, 'I Wrote The Book' shot in Grosvenor House in London under the direction of James Price, who had already made videos for Gossip, Simian Mobile Disco, Hercules and Love Affair ans the Peaches.
We found a much more restrained Beth Ditto in plan looking like a diva and not having never broken a plate. A dance track that at times reminds us of Madonna. Not bad but I prefer more dirty and shameless, the character we all know.
