Rio de Janeiro, April 11 .- The Rock in Rio festival to be held in Rio de Janeiro, recalled 20 years after his death the vocalist Freddie Mercury, to appear in a movie scene by singing a duet with Milton Nascimento Brazilian, organization reported today. Rock in Rio, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary, will take place on weekends from 23 to 25 September and the 30th of that month to October 2 in the Town called Rock in Rio de Janeiro. To commemorate this anniversary, the organization prepares a symbolic opening, which includes performances by Milton Nascimento and the Brazilian group Os Paralamas do Sucesso and Titas, remembered for their participation in previous festivals have been held in Brazil.
"Since 2001 have organized several events to celebrate the start of each edition of the Rock in Rio "said Roberto Medina, president of the festival. With the return of Rock in Rio to the city of his birth, after passing through Madrid and Lisbon, the organization prepares surprises that include display of fireworks in what purports to be a tribute to the age of three generations of the festival.
Groups Os Paralamas do Sucesso and Titas will be responsible to open next September 23 this year's festival, event in which were enshrined in 1985 and where they are now returning to act together with the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra. Six years later, Titas resurfaced during the second edition of Rock in Rio, in a memorable show held in the Maracana Stadium and is still remembered by fans of the Brazilian band.
Nascimento, meanwhile, will rise to the scenario called "World" to sing through a Freddie Mercury video to remember the passing of vocalist for the 1985 edition, action that is considered the most emblematic moment in the fourth century of the festival. On that occasion, Queen, headed Mercury, appeared in two nights to 180,000 people, in a show that even in the video was taken "Queen Live in Rio".
"The Queen presenting the first edition of the Rock in Rio was a historic moment. That led us to the idea of making a video tribute to Mercury through greater say in Brazil, which is the de Nascimento, "said Medina. For this event, the organization has confirmed the presence of established stars such as Elton John, Shakira, and other international artists like Lenny Kravitz, Rihanna, Kate Perry.
