Rock In Rio 2011 adds new names

U.S. rapper Jay-Z and the Mexican band Maná will form part of the next edition of the Rock in Rio music festival to be held in Rio de Janeiro between the months of September and October 2011. Jay-Z will perform Oct. 1 at the festival, in what will be his first concert in Brazil. The artist, winner of 13 Grammys, more than 50 million albums sold worldwide, is now a leading voice in the new generation of American rap.

Also the group Maná, which just introduced its new album Drama and light, come to the event with a particular style. "Rock in Rio" will be held on weekends from 23 to 25 September and 30 of that month to 2 October, called Rock City Rio de Janeiro, venue to host two scenarios in which dozens of young talent will perform accompanying music stars enshrined.

The organization has already confirmed the presence Shakira, Elton John, Lenny Kravitz, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Motorhead, Metallica and Guns N'Roses.
