Chris Brown is nominated for six awards BET

NEW YORK (AP) - Last year at the BET Awards Chris Brown performed a moving tribute to Michael Jackson marked the start of a good comeback after a problematic stage. This year Brown is the main contender in the awards and is nominated in six categories. Brown will compete in the category of Best R & B male artist, best artist for the public and video of the year for "Look at Me Now".

He was also nominated twice in the category for best collaboration for his successful R & B "Deuces," which includes Tyga and Kevin McCall, and "Look at Me Now" with Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne. Brown finally seek the award for best actor for his role in the thriller "Takers." Lil Wayne Brown follows with five nominations.

Three of the categories in which it competes Lil Wayne came by his involvement with Brown on "Look At Me Now." Lil Wayne is also nominated for best male hip-hop artist and best artist as voted by the public for "6 Foot 7 Foot." Kanye West, Drake and Rihanna, Brown's former girlfriend, are nominated in four categories each.

Other contenders for best video of the year are Willow Smith in "Whip My Hair" West with "Runaway," B. o. B for "Airplanes", Keri Hilson and "Pretty Girl Rock" and Marsha Ambrosius of "Far Away." Willow is also nominated as best new artist award for young stars. Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Trey Songz, Cee Lo Green and B.

o. B could be more than one award. Alicia Keys will be presented during the awards ceremony and comedian Kevin Hart will lead the ceremony. BET Awards will air June 26 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
