Evanescence 150 joins the Rock in Rio shows

RIO DE JANEIRO, May 10, 2011 (AFP) - Organizers of the Rock in Rio 2011 festival on Monday night confirmed the presence of the American band Evanescence and closed and a grid with more than 150 shows in Rio de Janeiro from the end of September . The band led by Amy Lee, who shot to worldwide fame with the release of their single "Bring Me To Life" in 2003, will leave the stage on October 2, last day of the event, along with the legendary Guns n 'Roses .

With over 150 performances of international and Brazilian artists confirmed, each of the six-day event held 14 hours of party in the four scenarios: Palco Mundo, Sunset, Electronic, Rock Street. On Saturday, the organizers put on sale tickets on the Internet and in local Rio, 190 reals (117 dollars) per day of show.

The fourth local edition of Rock in Rio, the ninth globally, will be held from 23 to 25 September and 30 September to 2 October. The first edition was held in Rio in January 1985 and in 10 days drew nearly 1.4 million people. The next edition was in 1991 and the last in 2001. Rock in Rio was then four overseas editions, two in Portugal and two in Spain.
