The return of Evanescence

American band Evanescence this week confirmed its presence in the next edition of the festival Rock in Rio and completes the lineup of musical event to be held in Rio de Janeiro in September and October this year, organizers said. The group, led by charismatic singer / pianist Amy Lee will offer a concert on October 2, the same day they are scheduled performances by Guns N'Roses, Pitty, Detonautas and System of a Down, said in a statement.

The band from Arkansas, born in 1996 and two musical works in the market, is preparing his new album, which is produced by Nick Raskulinecz, who has worked with bands like Foo Fighters, Deftones. With their debut album, Fallen, Evanescence has sold over 15 million copies, stayed at number one in Europe for six weeks and won several Grammy awards.

For the rock group, which popularized the hit Bring Me To Life, will be the third performance in Brazil after the concerts held in 2007 and 2009, Brazilian media reported. Rock in Rio returns this year to his hometown after a decade, which has been held in Madrid and Lisbon. In addition to dozens of Brazilian artists, pop star Rihanna, the veteran singer Elton John and Katy Perry and the band Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Metallica, Snow Patrol, Motörhead and Coldplay are among the attractions of this edition.

The festival will be held on weekends from 23 to 25 September and the 30th of that month to October 2 in the Town called Rock in Rio de Janeiro, venue to host two scenarios where dozens of young acting talent to accompany devoted to musical stars. The 600,000 tickets have been sold in four days.
